My trip to Primošten 2022 May to attend the Nomadbase Live Croatia event. Excursions to Krka National Park and Sibenik.
Primošten 2022 May – Goals
My goals for this trip was:
- attend the Nomadbase Live Croatia event;
- exchange experiences with other nomads;
- learn more about Europe;
- a bit of tourism;
- adapt myself to a digital nomad life.
Nomadbase
Nomadbase is “a business and travel club for digital nomads” (from their website).
I joined this community last year as I wanna be a nomad.
They have periodically these events, to exchange experiences among their members, and I decided to attend my first live event with them.
Split
I arrived in Split coming from Lisboa, in a Lufthansa flight with connection in Munich.
Split is a tourist destination in Croatia.
Its airport is the closest to Primošten, about 40 km by car.
Due to my scheduled time, unfortunately, I couldn’t reserve time to know Split as it deserved.
Currency
Croatia still uses its own currency (Croatian kunas).
I used my multicurrency account at Wise to convert from euros to kunas.
From the next year (2023), they are also moving to euros.
Nomadbase Live Croatia in Primošten
Primošten is a small-town close to Split, but not so a tourist place.
It seemed to me that people who know this town are more the local Croatian.
As it is not as crowded as a tourist place, I felt it was better for an event like this.
Nomadbase Live Croatia had 274 attendants from 43 countries.
The official language in the event is English.
The event had several “talks, workshops, masterminds, excursions, fitness and celebrations” (from event website).
Around these official agenda, any participant can organize a meet-up if others are interested in some specific issue.
It is also a place for networking and each participant can disclose their services or products.
And, of course, the night parties are the best!
Krka National Park
We have some few official excursions inside the event program.
One of them included an afternoon in Krka National Park, followed by a walking tour in Sibenik.
Krka National Park is the second most visited park in Croatia (the most visited is Plitvice Lakes National Park), and it has the Krka waterfalls.
There is a track that visitants follow, and, in our case, we took a boat to follow to Sibenik.
Sibenik
Sibenik is a historic city in Croatia.
As the combined excursion occurred in an afternoon, we spent most of the time in Krka, resting just one hour in Sibenik for a fast walking tour.
Conclusion
The main goal has been reached, as I went there to see what other nomads are doing, and get inspired by them.
I exchanged a lot of experiences, learned a lot, maybe taught a bit.
As English is not my first language (and not from most of the attendants), I felt that I need to improve my English.
During one of the masterminds, my group helped me with their insights in my main doubt in this journey: what exactly I should work with to have an income for my travelling life.
See how others solved this in their life helped me a lot.
And I saw from nomads with a fixed base to others that pack their entire life in just a few bags – very minimalist!
At the end, I can say that the event has reached my expectancies and will contribute a lot for my future decisions.
Thanks for all the participants! And I love the Croatians, such a lovely people!
