A 15-day trip to São Paulo in 2023 December, coming from Rio de Janeiro to meet friends, and some sightseeing.
São Paulo 2023 December – Goals
My goals for this trip were, in this order:
- meet some friends in São Paulo;
- sightseeing;
- try to keep my study and exercise routine.
Overview
Every year, since 2015, my friends in São Paulo make a high school friends reunion.
This year, I came from Rio de Janeiro.
Best friends and nice places
Stones Music Bar
There were the friends from the high school, the biggest group.
Friends of this group, I met three times – wow, terrific!
One in one of our friends home.
The second was in a bar where the bands play pop rock called Stones Music Bar, a nice place to visit if you like this kind of music.
And the third one in a cool bar with a friend.
Tokyo Restaurant and Karaoke
São Paulo has many rooftops in different parts of the city.
As I like rooftops for sightseeing, and Tokyo is also a karaoke (another thing I love), I chose this one.
Avenida Paulista
I wrote about this avenue in my post São Paulo 2022 November.
In 2023 December, the avenue is completing 132 years, and this travel site published what is cool on Avenida Paulista.
As a former local, I didn’t do all the things reported this time, but I’ve done many of these things during my time living here.
This time, I went with a friend to Choperia Opção.
Universidade de São Paulo (USP)

I met more two friends, one a former colleague from an old job, and the other studied with me at the university.
USP has several sites, this one is located at Cidade Universitária.

Boteco 737
Boteco 737 is a nice bar and restaurant too, located very close to Congonhas Airport, from where I arrived, and departed, later.
Very close to this bar is also an Ibis Congonhas from Accor.
Study and exercise routine
Study was OK, as I took my tablet and some texts in work field to read.
About the exercise routine, since 2023 August, I enrolled in a gym franchise, called Smart Fit, that has units in many Latin American countries.
In the São Paulo case, I used the one located in Liberdade neighborhood, where I usually stay.
São Paulo 2023 December – Conclusion
Goals conclusion:
- meet some friends in São Paulo – OK;
- sightseeing – OK. In this travel, I went to many parts of the city, I will try to put all of them on this map, from Stones to Boteco 737.
Routes by car, as places are not close to each other.
- try to keep my study and exercise routine – OK.
