The travel
We started early in the morning from Fortaleza, going to Redenção, to visit a museum.
Cities on the way include Pacatuba, Guaiúba, and Acarape.
Redenção
After arriving, we made a guided tour to the museum (Museu Senzala Negro Liberto).
I had never visited a “senzala” (slave quarter) before, and I was sorrowful to see how the owner of the factory treated the slaves. It was shocking.
This not belongs to our time anymore, but the past is still alive there, not nice to see how it was.
I choose to put just an image of Pacoti/Acarape river, which crosses the place.
Baturité
After this heavy part of the trip, we proceed to Baturité, the next city.
The plan there was fresh, but it still demands effort, this time physical effort to go upstairs through via sacra to reach Nossa Senhora de Fatima statue on the top – 365 degrees!
Amazing city view from the top.
The next stop was a visit to the Monastery of the Jesuits.
Guaramiranga
Arriving in Guaramiranga, our group went to the downtown restaurants to have lunch.
After this, we spent the rest of the afternoon sightseeing.
These 2 last cities are located at high altitude, in the mountains (cities in this area are located at Maciço de Baturité).
Baturité, the first one, has part of the city in the base of the mountains.
Conclusion
As I wrote in the beginning, this was just a one-day trip because the cities are relatively close to Fortaleza, Google Maps indicates 128 km.
As a result, it is also cheap travel, just transport without hosting.
Very nice to spend quality time with my Tai Chi colleagues.
Last but not least, if you never tried, I strongly recommend trying one Tai Chi class, and start practicing, if you like.
It is a millinery Chinese practice that helps not just the health of the body, but also of the mind, very necessary in our troubled life nowadays.
